”ONION HOUSE IN PETERSBURG”
Painting on rice paper
In the halls of the gallery

Katya Andreeva spends the most part of the year in Crimea where she lives in a small house in which previous owners dried crops of sweet southern onion. There, in the South, Katya finds objects for her creativity; she draws inspiration from the air, from the calm and quiet worlds around receiving new forces nurturing her obvious talent of painter. Not only objects of the author’s observation appear on the canvas but also the aura which can’t be transfer to the canvas according the direct logic... May be the reason is the fact that she paints on the “living” rice paper.
