 "VIRUS LOADING"
In the halls of the gallery

Young Petersburg photographers with the support of the St. Petersburg Charitable Public Fund of Medical and Social Programmes "Humanitarian Action" present the exhibition "Virus Loading".
40,000 of Saint Petersburg dwellers are registered as HIV-infected and many of them require special medical and social support. It is not common in this country to speak much about this disease and most of the townspeople know almost nothing about what measures are being taken in the field of HIV/AIDS. Such attitude leads to discrimination of people living with HIV/AIDS, their relatives and even those who work in this field.
The exhibition is aimed at changing negative prejudices and doing away with the fear surrounding the problem of HIV/AIDS, and gives those trying to deal with the epidemic of HIV/AIDS their due.
The photos and texts presented at the exhibition reflect everyday lives of people for whom the Human Immunodeficiency Virus has become an integral part of life.
