November 25 - December 6 2008. Collaborative exhibition of the gallery "Parasite" |
«PARASITE» ON RUSSIAN POOR» Yury Nikoforov, Vladimir Kozin, Semyon Motolyanets, Dmitry Petukhov, Denis Mikhnevich, Ilya Zelenetzky, Andrey Kabo, Girsh, Ivan Tuzov, “Mylo” group, Alexey Varsopko Painting, photography, installation | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The gallery "Parasite" has long been implementing the ideological resource of the Poor Art. The “Parasites” cannot stand trite glamour-style yelling from all the “informational outlets” and are too fastidious to parasitize on its lustrous body. Recently Sergey Gordeev (Russian Senator from Perm Region) and Marat Gelman (Moscow gallerist and curator) organized the project “Russian Poor” in the town of Perm. It was a long-expected signful event posing ideological accents in art: “flies apart from hamburgers”! We are grateful to these powerful people for the fact that by this project they made an attempt to separate serious art oriented at naturally deep artistic search from the aesthetics of consumer magazines and consumer items done according to promoted fashionable standards of “glamorous beauties”. "Poor Art has an important discourse – its naturalness. It is much closer to nature than the Rich one, the latter being based on technology and luster. The mere material of the Poor Art returns us to nature, destroys the border between the natural and the artificial. This art grows from nature itself" – М. Gelman. We Parasites, being step-relatives to "Arte povera" and "Russian Poor", on the 25th of November 2008 in Borey gallery with joyful satisfaction adjoin our carriage called "Parasites on Russian Poor” to the speed-picking locomotive of М. Gelman’s Russian Poor. |
