Alexey Kharlamov was born on December 19, 1971 in Leningrad
“My first teacher was Albert Solomonovich Rozin (Solomon Rossi) whose studio I attended in the evenings when studying at elementary school. Then I studied painting and drawing in art school #1 for 3 years, at the same time studying music and improvisation. Was interested in psychology and different spiritual practices.  In  2000 there was a breakthrough – I started doing spontaneous images trying to surrender to the process and not to think of the result.  Finally I started once again experience my dreams while painting and I think that my painting possesses the energies of my dreams.
In 2001 - 2007 I actively participated in exhibitions and musical projects”.
As any person writing a posthumous biography of an artist we face a difficult choice. We can write a panegyric or to analyze the creative heritage within the theory of art. We have chosen the 3rd variant. We have tried to gather everything that Alexey had written about his works. He didn’t write much but eagerly shared his feelings and thoughts about his works. We hardly can fully understand his concepts. I believe the important thing is not to bring in anything alien which could distort the energetic information, which he tried to transmit to a spectator. Below is what Alexey wrote about himself, for the website, for exhibitions. We did not have much material however, for he preferred to work and not to discuss the fulfilled. We can add that in   2006-2007 there was his personal  exhibition "Fragments of dreams " and a group exhibition “The Spirit of Altai”. In 2000-2006 he participated in  5 or maybe 7 music projects, in 2006 he recorded a CD of his songs “It cannot be like this” with arrangements. He realized himself as a poet as well – a collection of his poems is getting ready for print.  In summer 2006 he undertook an expedition to Altai, which gave a new impulse to embodiment of his creative ideas.
