Like any other artist, Lubnin is a traveler and a careful observer. He can drag something big out of the small and show its essence in one way or another. Here is an exhibition of portraits: travel notes, made by the artist, who at the right time managed to focus his attention on our city’s inhabitants, interesting both from inside and outside, and there are plenty of them around. This series of drawings is a serious and ironical elaboration of the images seen before. It is external and internal material, which transformed into charcoal on paper.
Portrait windows with the microtypes looking out of them let all lovers of Lubnin’s animations try on delicate embarrassment of the characters and their adventures in his new book of poems and drawings “The Roofer”.
