With support of St Petersburg Committee on Social Policy.
Poster show against gender-based violence. There will be posters from various countries devoted to gender-based violence and gender stereotypes presented at the show.
A press-conference for the press will take place at the show opening on March 8, at 12:00.
Only women know what is violence from the men they know, how it starts, what the consequences are for women and their kids, and how to fight against this crime.
Each third woman in the world has been beaten, forced to a sexual act, sold or humiliated at least once in her life. Russia still holds one of the first places in Europe for violence against women.
To fight against gender-based violence, one should see the problem, be aware of its cause and consequences, talk about it openly.
Without education programs and social campaigns, refuges and crisis centres women of all ages feel helpless and lonely.
The main goal of the exhibition is to show cruelty towards women and help men realize their responsibility in solving this problem. We invite all people who are not indifferent, men and women, teachers and social workers, law enforcement officers and social advertisers. Maybe the works exhibited will draw your attention to the problem of violence against women and inspire you to support the struggle against this evil.
