Nikolay Kopeykin claims to be born on February 6, 1936 in Pukhtograd. The reason for such a choice of date and place of birth is unknown. It is known for certain that N.Kopeykin has got two higher educations or at least one finished higher education and the other unfinished. He served in the army on the territory of German Democratic Republic. He is one of the Kolkhui (Magic Artists) artistic sect founders and a variable constant of the music band “Non-formal Union of the Youth” (NOM).
Nikolay Kopeykin’s artistic activities are very well known not only to Russian connoisseurs of art, but to the ones abroad, too. The artist has participated in dozens of collective shows in St Petersburg, Moscow, Yaroslavl, Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, and has had more than 200 solo shows in Russia and Western Europe. N.Kopeykin is the author of numerous postcards and posters. His works are kept in private collections, museums, town councils in Russia, the US, the UK, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Poland, Japan, etc.
